6th Grade Band

Here we are, about a month and a half into our instrument playing. We have
made it from pages 6 to 8 in our book, and are in the process of taking our
first playing test (Jingle Bells, #19). The students are learning how to have
a successful rehearsal, the expectations in a band class, and how to play a
few songs. Our first concert is approaching! It will take place on Tuesday,
December 16 at 6:00 p.m. in our own Franklin gym. Students should plan to
report at 5:30, dressed in the appropriate uniform.

The uniform is:
all white shirt
all black pants/skirt
all black socks/nylons
all black shoes
**if you have any trouble getting this uniform, please contact Mrs. Seadeek
immediately!**

Songs to be played in the concert are:
#17 - Hot Cross Buns
#18 - Au Claire de la Lune
#19 - Jingle Bells
#23 - Good King Wenceslas
#25 - Dreydl, Dreydl
There will also be auditions for an honors band, and that group will play the
song on page 11 called Holiday Sampler. Start practicing now! There will
also be an opportunity to play solos and small groups on any song of their
choosing. Feel free to look ahead in the book and find a song to play.
