About The Teacher
Welcome to an exciting new year! I am thrilled to be a part of your son's/daughter's 3rd grade experience here at Ganiard Elementary School. I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you my experiences professionally and tell you about myself personally. I am a 2000 graduate of Central Michigan University and a 2006 graduate from Marygrove College with a Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching. My love for teaching 3rd grade became clear when I student taught in Alpena! It was an awesome experience that I will treasure always. I began as a Ganiard Gator educator in January 2004 in the 3-4 multiage classroom. Prior to accepting that position, I taught at West Intermediate School. I began as a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher my first year. In my second year at West, I also taught Communications, Publications, and Literacy Skills. All of these experiences helped me develop professionally, and I am truly blessed to be teaching my passion, 3rd grade. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy reading for pleasure every chance I get. I value time spent with family and friends. My husband, daughter Madison, son Kort, and I love riding bikes, taking walks through the woods, and playing at the park, of course! You too play a critical role in your child's education and I intend to involve you in every aspect of your child's experience this year. Please feel free to contact me antyime before or after school. I look forward to a year filled with challenges and successes!
