Ms. Young has been a teacher in Gull Lake for twelve years. She has taught
all grades preschool through third grade. This is her fifth year at
Richland Elementary, previously she taught at Bedford Elementary and at
Wildermuth in the Begindergarten preschool.
Ms. Young graduated from Western Michigan University in 1995 with her
undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and in 2000 with her Master's
degree in Reading. This fall she will be teaching at WMU on Tuesday nights.
The class she is teaching is called Writing for the Elementary Teacher.
Second graders will be pen pals with the college students in the class.
Scout is Ms. Young's beloved Yellow Labrador Retriever. She turned four
years old in June. She is named for Ms. Young's favorite literary character
from the book To Kill a Mockingbird.
In her spare time, Ms. Young loves to read, write, take pictures, watch
movies, and play with Scout.
Our Misson this year is to be responsible citizens and learners. We will
