Here are some of the HOMEWORK activities we have throughout the year. As you can see they are gradually introduced beginning in September through November. "Club Words" - (Starting in September) These are high frequency/sight word lists that your child should work on each week. These come over every Tuesday. Your child will be assessed each Tuesday and need to have total mastery (100%) in order to move to the next list These words are for READING ONLY. Reading Club - (Starting early October) Organized by our wonderful P.T.O., this program encourages kids to read books "at their level" at home for "points and prizes". The kids seem motivated and are doing a great job bringing their bags back each day. I will be sending any "full blue sheets" that I receive to our Reading Club Mom,Sherri Simmons, every Friday. Kids will receive prizes through our WEE DEVIVER Post Office every week from our Reading Club mom. Writer's Tool Bags - Beginning in late October. Our Class Calendar will always indicate the two students who take them home each Thursday. Remember they should be returned every Wednesday. Look below for the first two round of rotations of the bags so you can see when your child will be taking one of them home. Flashcard Contracts (This will begin in late November.) We'll start with addition first and add subtraction flashcards in January. You'll receive 20 flashcards this week and then 20 more to add to your child's set next week. You should practice the flashcards 3 times a week for a minimum of 3-5 minutes each time. Have your child fill out the contract that goes home each Monday and return it by Friday or the following Monday. Practicing addition facts will help your child increase their "quick recall" of the facts 0 through 10.
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
