Fifth graders are in the midst of turning Greg Mortenson's book, "Listen to
the Wind," and Jeannette Winter's "Wangari's Trees of Peace" (about the 2004
Nobel Peace Prize Winner)into musical performances for Richland first and
second graders. Greg Mortenson, is visiting all Gull Lake schools on October
29. Our performance will help young students understand the work Mr. Mortenson
has done building schools in northern Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Our program this year is "The Adventures of Lewis & Clark," the story of the
two men sent by Thomas Jefferson to travel from East coast to the Pacific. The
songs are great and the story a great true tale.
Put the date on your calendar now because the performance is part of your grade.
