8th Religion - Growing Our Catholic Faith

We will be taking notes, discussing, sharing, praying, reflecting, listening to Christian music, writing, talking with our wonderful priests, praying more, and growing as we travel along the path of our faith journey. We will continue to build our Confirmation binders in preparation for receiving this very special sacrament.

Ever say, "I can't!" and really believe it? Learn about this amazing individual and gratefully, humbly, thankfully say, "I can!"

Metaphor Project using the 5 Models of the Church

Use the information we have studied in this chapter to create a visual representation that is a Metaphor for the Church and includes all of the models presented.

Example – (you may not use this one)

Desk -
Legs are like the institution because they support the whole structure.

Pencil and paper are the heralds because they communicate important information.

The many desk accessories, books, and other desk items are the community of support helping whomever may sit at the desk.

The desk top is servant to all who are in the community of support on this desk and the individuals who use the desk.

The excellent papers, projects, and assignments created as a result of this group working together within the church(desk) are the sacraments of deeper commitment to learning and growing – both fundamental actions of the church.

Visual Representation -

Drawing, figure made from realistic materials (no legos, k’nex, premade items or characters)

Written explanation – may be handwritten or typed (typed always preferred) of how each model of the Church is represented in your Metaphor. This is the important aspect of the project. Spend time here.
