4th of July Parade |

Dear Parent and Band Student:
Greetings! It is time to make preparations for the annual Independence Day parade. The parade is a highlight of the season for the city of Ishpeming and the Phelps Band plays an important role in making our citizens feel proud. In order to provide a positive showing in the parade and gain public support, I ask for your help by helping your child attend the parade rehearsals and the parade. As part of the band, your child's participation is important. Next year's 6 - 9 grade students are invited to participate. If your child currently has plans to participate in some other parade entry, I still ask that you consider encouraging your child to participate in band. It will be fun and this is a community effort. Every player is needed. Next year freshmen, we would like your participation one more time.
Three rehearsals are scheduled for this year's parade preparation. Only those who have been asked by Mr. Korpi will be eligible for the flags. All practices will take place at the Phelps band room. The Tuesday rehearsal is for percussion & flags only. If you are a percussion player and want to participate, you must attend Tuesday's rehearsal.
Date Times Who & Where (Phelp's Band Room)
Tuesday, July 1 10:00 - 11:00 (Percussion & Flags only)
Wednesday, July 2 10:00 - 11:30 (everyone)
Thursday, July 3 10:00 - 11:30 (everyone)
Parade Day: We will meet @ Phelps at 9:30 a.m. The location of the parade line-up will be given on the day of the parade.
Try to make each rehearsal. If for some reason you cannot make a rehearsal and can only make the parade, please come on parade day anyway.
