Mrs. Working has been teaching elementary music in the Portage Public Schools
for 24 years—the last 11 years at Moorsbridge Elementary. She has one son, 25
years old, that plays in the band "Ellie Sky" and a retired band director
husband who teaches part time at Comstock High School. We also have a Daisy
dog named Coda. Mrs. Working and her husband both play in the Kalamazoo
Concert Band which gives 4 free concerts a year. (Look for updates on my web
site.) Mrs. Working is active in the West Michigan Orff Chapter, MENC, as a
music educator clinician and has just completed the Level III Orff
Certification Class. Mrs. Working also works with Education for the Arts as
an Aesthetic Education Teaching Artist.
Music is part of our daily lives. The goal of music class is to learn to
appreciate all kinds of music, to create music and to compose and make music
a personal outlet for students. The most important goal is to have fun while
learning. Parents are invited to visit a music class any time. We are very
active in class, and you'll have more fun if you participate with us.
