Grading Policy
When viewing Parent Connect, you will be asking yourself two questions…”Is my child turning in their homework?” and “Did my child understand the concept?” Tests, quizzes and other assessments will be graded using a standard percentage grading scale. Everything recorded will be categorized as Assignments or Assessments. The assignment category will include most daily practice and homework. The assessment category will include tests, quizzes, projects, and special assignments.

Dear Parents,
You may have noticed there have been no scores entered into the Parent Connect Portal yet this trimester. As we progressed through this school year and became more familiar with the district’s new grading descriptors (Mastery, Developing, Beginning) we realize there is some confusion and disconnect. Our current 4 point grading system does not correlate with the M, D, B report card grades. Since we cannot input letters in Parent Connect, we will be using the 3 point number system described below for all curricular areas.
Mastery = 3 points
Developing = 2 points
Beginning = 1 point
You will begin to see this same 3 point system used on all assignments, projects, and assessments. Our goal is you will begin to see a clearer view of your child’s progress and learning. As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either of us.
