How do I obtain a musical instrument for my student?
There are many ways that you can obtain a musical instrument.
Some families prefer to use an instrument that other family
members have used or one they have purchased from a second
party. These instruments should be evaluated by a instrument
repair technician to ensure they are in proper playing
condition.
Most families have success using a "rent to own" system
from one of the two Huron School District approved local music
stores. Both A&R Music of Lincoln Park (313-381-2274) and
Anderson Music of Dearborn (313-278-0100) will provide your
student with a new (or slightly used, if you prefer)
instrument for a monthly fee. The monthly fees vary depending
upon the type of instrument desired, but all include insurance
protection and routine maintainance. Contact one of the stores
above for further details.
Can I borrow a musical instrument from Renton Junior High School?
Renton Junior High is happy to provide certain specialty
instruments for student use. There is no fee associated with
this rental, but parents/guardians must sign a contract that
acknowledges that they take full responsibility for the
instrument, including all necessary repairs beyond normal use.
Contact Mrs. Bressler for further details.
