I am very excited to be a member of the St. Joseph School family. I have a
pretty varied background working in schools across the country. I began
teaching in 1989 at Shrine Grade School. I have taught every grade K-6 in a
number of different environments including public, private, Montessori and
inner-city schools. I have also served as a vice-principal at three
schools.
In the fall of 2002 I began my second master’s program through MSU. My first
master’s was from UNLV in curriculum and instruction. I decided to pursue
this second masters in educational administration.
While looking for a school for my daughter, I came upon St. Joseph and its
wonderful community. I asked Sister Theresa if I could do my administrative
internship with her and she graciously said yes. Upon completion of my
program in December of 2003, I told Sister that I would be happy to sub for
her and if she had a teaching opening, I would love the opportunity to work
here. And the rest they say, is history.
During the fall I am very busy watching football. Since my husband and I met
at Notre Dame and he has two degrees from there, we have a strong affiliation
to the University of Notre Dame. My husband is also a football coach for
Berkley High School, so we are at games for him and my dad twice a week.
During the winter and spring months I spend my time reading and scrap
booking. I manage to stay busy taking my daughter and son to their various
events as well.
I want every child to grow spiritually, academically, socially and
emotionally to the best of their ability. It is my goal to have every child
in my class well prepared for their middle school experience.
