BOOK TALK *** Due Date - December 17 *** Our December book report will be a Book Talk. In a sense, a book talk is an advertisement designed to “persuade” other students to read the book. A book talk can take many forms, including: Dressing as a character in the book and telling a little about yourself (as the character.) Deliver a one-minute radio or television commercial for the book. Sharing photos that represent the time period in which the book is set. For example, pictures that reflect pioneer times could be used as an introduction for Prairie Songs, by Pam Conrad. Sharing an artifact box containing several objects that relate to the book (ie. time capusule.) Act out a skit about an interesting part of the story. Make a puppet, a poster, or write a song. Students may chose a favorite book in any genre to share with the class. However, the book must be a minimum of 100 pages and cannot be a book that they have already read. They will need to know the title, author, and illustrator, if there is one. They may bring the book to show the class. We will begin presenting these reports on December 17. Please let your imagination run wild!
