Week before mid-winter break! Try to keep focused so we don't fall behind.
This week at a glance. Fairly normal. There is an assembly on Thursday and we
will have a middle school Valentine Day dance on Friday sponsored by the 7th
grade class.
To all students in 7th and 8th grade regarding essay re-writes. You have two
choices. 1. Keep the grade I give you. OR 2. Make the changes, re-write or re-
print a clean copy, and submit it with the original graded essay within one
week of the day that I handed the essay back. If changes are made correctly,
I will give you back all the points you lost minus any points taken for
turning in the essay late to begin with. After the one week has expired, I
will not accept any re-written essays and you will keep the original grade.
To all social studies students of mine. Don't forget that you have an
opportunity for extra points by taking one or both of the Junior Scholastic
quizzes after the break. You must tell me that you are planning on taking the
quizzes before Friday, Feb. 12th so I can have enough copies made up. The
Football one will be on Monday during study hall, the Olympic one will be on
Wednesday during study hall the week after break. If you cannot make that
time, you will need to make arrangements with me before the quiz is taken by
the others. This is a 20 point opportunity if you get a 100% on both quizzes.
Extra credit can never hurt your current grade, only help it.
