Dear folks at home, Dec. 14 2009
Merry Christmas! I pray that you have a safe and wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. We have several Christmas events this week and I know we will be ready for that long Christmas nap, by Friday. Remember, Friday is a 1/2 day of school and the start of our Christmas break. We will resume on Monday, Jan. 4.
On Monday, we will have a Christmas celebration with our 8th grade buddies. If you wish to send in a small gift for your child's buddy, please do so on this day. We will also be making some mangers out of graham crackers. Thank you to Mrs. Benford, Mrs. Slezsak and Mrs. Vacca for bringing in the rest of the graham crackers...we are good to go!
On Wednesday evening we will have our last Advent service and will celebrate with several music groups performing, including our Kindergarten/1st grade Jubilate Choir. St. Michael will be serving a soup/salad dinner from 5:30-6:30 if you would like to join us, otherwise please have your child here by 6:45 pm. They will sit with you and we will call them up when it is time to sing...they may wear anthing appropriate for church.
We will have our class Christmas party on Friday, Dec. 18. We will be making some Christmas crafts, peppermint shakes and playing some games. I will have a sign up sheet outside the classroom door on Monday if you are able to help with any supplies. Thank you!!
This week we will be wrapping up our study of Jesus birth, finishing our -at word families and concluding our animal life unit. In between our academic subjects, we will have several Christmas themed activities.
Have a great week!
