7th Grade Book Report in a Can
1. Due December 17, 2009
2. This book report has several parts:
A. Graphic Organizers – These must be completed neatly in blue or black ink. They must be error free and look nice.
I. Story Map = 20 points
II. Setting = 20 points
III. Character’s Feelings = 20 points
IV. Character Traits = 20 points
V. Characterization = 20 points
VI. Story Pyramid = 20 points
B. Design a covering for the outside of a coffee can or a shoe box. You must have a large coffee can, oatmeal container, or shoe box.
I. Create your own illustrations. You are not graded on your artistic ability but on your effort. Use color and fill the entire cover. = 50 points
II. Include the title of the book, author, and the number of pages in your book. = 10 points
C. Include 10 items in your can that reflect something from the book.
I. These items must be 3D.
II. You must be able to explain each item.
III. Each item is worth 5 points.
D. Oral Presentation of Story.
I. You must share your story with the class NOT read it.
II. Explain each item and how it relates to your story.
III. Oral report is worth 50 points.
E. 10 points Extra Credit is available by finishing early.
