Third Grade Rockers

The third graders have lots of wonderful questions to ask Sr.  Roseanne when she comes into our classroom.   Some of the questions were:  How did you become a sister?  What does a sister do?  What do you like about being a sister?  How long have you been a sister?  I can't wait to hear the answers!!  I will tell you all about it on the school website.
The students are required to have another book read by November 30th.  I will send forms out with this newsletter.  In February , we will be doing a character presentation.  The third graders are going to "dress-up" as a character in their book.  Our presentation will be done for the parents during the lunch hour(12:15-1:15).
We finished testing!   In math, we have worked on symmetry, flips, turns  slides and measurement.  We will be starting on multiplication after the Thanksgiving break.
At that time, we will stop doing subtraction math facts.  It was great to see all of you at conferences. I feel very privileged to be able to teach your son
or daughter.  This group is so much fun!!
In science, we are beginning to study plants and their functions.
We got our new Social Studies books and they are fantastic!! We discussed how the Great Lakes shaped our state.  And learned how to remember the names of the Great Lakes. (HOMES) We are learning lots of new things about Michigan.
    It's that time again.
We are collecting $$$ for a gift for a veteran. If you are interested, send in your money by November 30th.  We are going to purchase a digital watch, flannel shirt and slippers for our veterans.  It is optional.
