I can't believe it is our last week of class for 2009! This year has just flown by! We had a very busy week writing persuasive letters, practicing for the Christmas play, and taking tests. I can't wait to read your student's letters to see what classroom pet they want me to get! I'm not sure if a pet will appear in the room or not, but the kids came up with some great facts and opinions about their animal.

Please sign and return your student's midterm by Wednesday! Thank you!

This week we are preparing for the Christmas play. Tuesday will be a dress up day and your student needs to bring a sack lunch too. The afternoon performance begins at 1pm and the evening performance begins at 7pm. Please have your child in our classroom at 6:30pm on Tuesday night. After the evening performance, pick up your student in the classroom and join us in the gym for punch and cookies.

We are planning the mass on Wednesday at 8:15am so we hope to see you there! We will also be going to Reconciliation on Wednesday morning. This is another great way to prepare ourselves for Christmas. On Thursday morning, we will work on a special Christmas art project with the preschool. If you are free Friday morning, join us as we watch "The Polar Express."

We will begin chapter 8 in math this week. This chapter focuses on more multiplication. Hopefully you received a note from me in the Friday folders regarding the timed tests we will begin after Christmas vacation. Encourage your child to study their facts each day!

After Christmas vacation, we will begin a new chapter in Social Studies, as well as start Unit 3 in our reading series. We will take a science test after vacation about animals. We will watching "Finding Nemo" this week to wrap up our study of vertebrates and invertebrates.

In case I don't see you before Friday, I hope you have a relaxing and blessed Christmas! Enjoy the time with your families and always remember the Reason for the Season!
