Thank you for visiting my web page!! I absolutely love teaching art here in
Stockbridge.
I live in Pinckney with my husband, Dave. We live in a log cabin and enjoy
camping, boating and relaxing. I love to do ceramics, quilting and gardening
in the summer.
My educational and experience background is a bachelor's degree from Eastern
Michigan University, with a major in Science and a minor in Art. I am half
way through my Master's program at Eastern. I taught for three years in
grades 2 and 4/5 in a charter school in Westland. I also taught reading and
fourth grade in Romulus Public schools for a year.
I began in Stockbridge in 1999 as a substitute teacher and then began
teaching art, hired by the PTA. I was hired the following year to teach art
full time. I began by creating an art program that combined core curriculum
subjects with art projects. The art program has been supported by the school
and I have been expanding that program ever since.
My mission for the elementary art program is to provide motivating artistic
experience that combines art elements and principles with core
curriculum objectives, in an overall global/multicultural format.
