About The Teacher

Ms. Black

Ms. Narda Black is a mother of two great children, Jessica and Daniel and a
wife to a fabulous husband, Brett! She enjoys travel, tennis, photography,
running and some relaxing at home, when she gets the chance.

Narda has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida
and she received her teaching certification from Eastern Michigan
University. She received her Master of Science in Education
degree with a Specialization in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

Before becoming a teacher, Narda enjoyed a 10 year career in the newspaper
business. She had the opportunity to work for many papers around the
country, from The Miami Herald to The Sacramento Bee. Then she had children
and decided she wanted to do what was really important in her life, teach!

Mr. Smith

Mr. Peter Smith has taught for 20 years in the first through fourth grades,
the last nine in a multiage classroom.

He earned his Bachelors Degree at the University of Michigan, and his
Masters at Eastern Michigan University. He has lived in Ann Arbor since
1974.

Mr. Smith is married and has two daughters, ages 18 and 22, and his
oldest is in her final year of college at the University of Michigan. He
enjoys bike riding, camping, and tinkering with things around the house.

He also likes to read history and political books, and drives his kids crazy
by insisting that they visit museums on nearly every family vacation.

Mission For The Class

Our mission in teaching is to enable all of the students in our classroom
community to grow and learn as individuals.

We will instill in all of our students a life-long love of learning and a
thirst for knowledge.

We want all of the students in our class to know that they can do anything
if they put their mind to it.

By establishing high expectations and encouraging students to take risks, we
will help each student believe in themselves, now and for the rest of their
lives.
