Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for attending the Student-led Conference with your
child. We had 100% attendance! That is outstanding!!! The kids were so excited
and proud to show what they have learned this card marking.
Our crayfish(yes,they are alive)our in!! Ask your child about our
science investigations. We will be studying them for several weeks.
In reading, we will be learning how visualizing helps readers better
understand what they are reading. We will be illustrating poems, stories and
comparing our "mental images." Students will see that each picture may look
different because we all have different schema(prior knowledge)about a subject.
In math, we continue working on measuring, perimeter, area and other
math concepts. Practice those math facts!!!
During writing workshop, students will be writing color poems. I will be
teaching the importance of details and great word choice. Look for these in
our hallway soon!!
Finally, I hope you have a loving and safe Thanksgiving. We all have so
much to be grateful for-your little darlings for one. Each day I tell them how
they make my days so fun!!!
