el 2 de noviembre:
We wrapped up our Dia de los Muertos holiday by showing off our projects and tasting bread.  Thank you once again for celebrating this wonderful holiday with me.  I truly enjoyed learning about all of your ancestors and seeing how resourceful you were in creating altars in their honor.  For me this is a time to celebrate my dad who died ten years ago (this Saturday) with brain cancer.  He was only 57.  He loved fall and the changes to winter.  One of my favorite memories of him was his dedication to my swimming and his support for all of my 6:00am practices and swimming meets.  Eventhough my son was only five when he died, I enjoy sharing stories about him and teaching him about him... celebrating his life and having Mitchell "know" Grandpa Otto.  I like to think he shines down and is at all of the 6:00am practices and games that Mitchell now has.  And even though you may not have "known" the person you celebrated...hopefully you have learned a little bit about your ancestors and enjoyed this celebration!  GRACIAS!!!

         such a digital society!  Be sure you know these words
         * ¿Qué hora es?   versus   ¿A qué hora?
         * Es mediodía.
         * Es medianoche.

         * en punto
         HW> Write down 10 times; you need to draw the time as a face clock and as a digital clock.  Write out

        read pgs. 49-51 in your books.  HW> Write 10 sentences using just a pronoun and a conjugated verb

pronoun

base of verb + ending:

yo

-o

-as

él, ella, Ud.

-a

nosotros,nosotras

-amos

ellos, ellas, Uds.

-an

7th~   Today we started to review numbers.  You should make a note that there are some difference with
         the numbers in comparison to what we learned last year.  One spelling isn't right and one wrong, there
          are just a couple ways of saying/spelling some numbers.  Be sure you read over pages 18-20.  We also
         reviewed telling time on pg. 20.
         HW> p. 20 Act. 27

         HW> p. 19 Act. 25, write out the entire thing and underline the possessive adjectives

el 18 de septiembre:
6th~ Today student took their first quiz.  When the quiz was over they took notes:
   infinitive:    is a verb that is by itself without a subject; it means "to" do something; ex. hablar = to talk,
                    usar = to use, visitar = to visit, etc.
                    If you were to put the subject yo with the verb hablar; yo hablar = I to talk; this doesn't
                    make sense.  So the verb needs to conjugate...
   conjugated: is a verb is used with a subject; the verb ending in Spanish changes to go with the subject.
                     Ex. Yo hablo. = I talk. Notice that the verb changed from hablar to hablo, and now the
                     sentence makes sense.
   *please be sure you have read pgs. 49-51 parts 3-5.
7th~ If you had class today, you had to do the phone book activity on p. 17; no class today? You'll get the
         assignment on Monday.
8th~ We went over the review sheets today...there is no homework.
