Hi there! I am the fifth grade homeroom teacher at Bloomington Lutheran
School. I've been teaching here since 2002 and overall have been in the
teaching ministry since 1986.
+I graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College (1986) in New Ulm, MN with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a minor in Music.
+I graduated from Silver Lake College (2001) in Manitowoc, WI with a Masters
degree in Curriculum and Instruction/Teacher Leadership.
+I began teaching in 1986 when I was called to teach third and
fourth grade at St. Andrew Lutheran School in inner city Chicago. During my
nine years there I coached all sports and directed the senior choir as well
as the band program.
+I was called to St. Matthews Lutheran School (1995) in Oconomowoc,
Wisconsin where I taught second grade for one year and fourth grade for the
other six years. I directed the Junior Choir and the Senior Choir all seven
years. The YOUth Praise choir went to many competitions and won several
prestigious awards. The Voices In Praise Senior Choir gave several concerts,
made a CD and introduced contemporary music to the congregation.
+I was one of four teachers who opened Living Hope Lutheran School (2001) and
taught second grade for three years before I changed locations (2004)to teach
fifth through eighth grade at Bloomington Lutheran School.
+Prior to college I worked for seven years at The University of Notre Dame
in the athletic department where I worked with famous athletes like Joe
Montana, Kelly Tripuka, Bill Lambier and others. My boss was the academic
advisor and fencing coach. And yes, I tried fencing. I also worked in a print
shop and phototypesetting office during that same time.
+I sing with our Praise Band, write/direct our K-8 children's Christmas
service, teach grades 5-8 music, music theory and computer during the school
year, play guitar and piano, photograph and sing for weddings, and enjoy
working in my yard. I have two dogs, Jasmin-a Bichon Poodle and Benji-a
Yorkie Poodle.
+I love teaching! I put my heart and soul into everything I do because it's
my life! We all learn together as we grow in wisdom and stature.
