2009-2010 Mission Projects
This year we have 3 school-wide mission projects planned.
1st-2nd Quarter: “Any Soldier” Mission Project
This project is an effort to send care packages to soldiers who do not
receive much mail. Each care package will include a Bible and devotional as
well as some other necessities. We will use the mission money collected to
cover the cost of shipping and purchasing materials. Our goal is to be able
to send 75 boxes. We plan to spend about $20 per box, which includes the cost
of shipping and the cost of the Bible and devotional.
Families may donate items for the care packages. There will be a spot in
each classroom for the items donated to include in the care packages.
Suggested items for care package:
- sunscreen (at least 50 SPF)
- chap stick with sunscreen
- hard candy
- magazines
- pre-packaged/non-perishable snacks, cookies, ect.
- books
- eye drops
- gum
- puzzle books, cards
We will be having a family night on Veterans’ Day (Nov. 11) to pack the boxes
and prepare them for shipping. More information about this event will follow.
We will be looking for a few volunteers to help us organize this mission
project.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Mrs.
Pudell at Living Hope or Mrs. Koester at BLS.
