Dear Parent/Guardian:
As your child’s math teacher I would like to share an interesting idea to strengthen your child’s math skills. The idea is a booklet called “Summer Math Skills Sharpener.” What is the Summer Math Skills Sharpener? The SMSS is a series of booklets designed to review mathematical concepts learned during the previous school year. These twelve books review Kindergarten, grades 1- 8, Pre-algebra, Algebra I, and High School Math (Algebra II and Geometry). This is a review program that does not put the burden of instruction on the parent. Children utilize the book designed for the grade level just completed. Each of the 30 pages of mixed skills practice can be completed in 10-20 minutes, 3 times per week for 10 weeks. Full answer keys are included for the parents with each booklet.
