Dear Parents,
A field trip note home was sent home with your child today. The note is also copied below this short letter. The Star Tribune tour promises to be a fun and educational trip!
I also wanted to let you know that the Spelling Words are more difficult this week. Please review them with your child. They are easily confused words.
Finally, I enjoyed meeting with some of you last night and look forward to visiting with the rest of you in the next few days. I always learn so much about your child and how they learn. Thanks so much for taking time for the conference and for all you do to support the academic and spiritual pursuits of your child.
Thanks,
Mrs. Marti
Star Tribune Field Trip Note
Grade 6 will be going on a field trip to the Star Tribune’s Heritage Center on Fri., Nov. 20, 2009 from 10-11:30AM. We will leave school by bus at 9:15AM and will return by 12:15PM. The Heritage Center is where the Star Tribune Newspaper is printed. Earlier this year, we studied the technology of paper. This field trip will show students the technology used in printing a newspaper as well as give them a rare glimpse of an assembly-line process. It’s a great trip! Requirements are listed in bullet form below.
- Students and parents are required to wear closed-toe shoes for safety reasons. This field trip does require lots of walking as the building is the size of 9 football fields.
- Sorry, no siblings under age 10 are allowed.
- Cameras, including video cameras are also not allowed.
The tour is free but there is a $2 charge for the bus. Please return the permission slip and $2 by Tues., Nov. 17, 2009.
Chaperones are welcome on this trip.
Thank You,
Please cut here and return by Tues., Nov. 17, 2009! Thanks.
