Dear Parents,
The month of November means we will be going on our first field trips. Tuesday, November 3rd, we will be heading to the Minnesota History Center. We will leave right away at 9:15. We will need to take a lunch with us, so please pack food in a disposable bag. Milk will be provided for those who normally take milk. We will return @2:15 to finish out the day as regularly scheduled.
The cost of the field trip is $9 for each student. All chaperones are welcome to come and admission for you is free of charge. However, you do need to pay $2 for the fantastic bus ride. Please enclose your money, as well as, your child’s $9 when they return the slip below.
Grades 1-4 will also be going to a play on Friday, November 13th. We will be attending the play at West High School. Unfortunately, we do not have room for parents to come along on this field trip. The cost of this field trip will be $2.00. Please have your child return the permission slip below ALONG WITH THE $2.00.
Please return all slips with money by Tuesday of next week. Thank you! (A paper copy of this should be coming home today with this information as well.)

Starting in October, the students will be responsible for reporting on 1 book each month. The book must be one they have not previously read, and it must be from the genre listed for the month. If your child is unsure if their book fits the genre, please have them show it to me.
I have listed many different options for your child to share his or her book with the class. The projects chosen should vary from month to month. Each student may choose from the list above. Any other ideas should be cleared with me first. My hope is that your child finds a way to share a book that is unique to him or her. I encourage everyone to be creative and have fun!
