BIRTHDAYS

FELIZ CUMPLEANOS to these students in Octubre:

Clarissa-18th

Mahalee-24th

Science Switch

We will be switching classes starting next quarter. Students in my class will have Ms. Ulrich for their first science switch. They will be covering parts of the human body and the weather cycle. Classes for our science switch will begin on Tuesday, November 4th.

P.T. Conferences held October 13 & 14

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held next week on Monday and Tuesday from 2-8pm. Students will then have an early release both days, meaning buses will pick them up at 12:55. You should have received a yellow sheet in your child's Friday Folder last week, reminding you of your conference times. Be sure to double check those and if there is a conflict, contact me or the ladies in the office to reschedule. See you then!

End of the Quarter is Friday, October 31st

End of Quarter 1 is Halloween. Report cards will go home the following Friday, so grades will be posted online by November 7th. We can discuss any concerns you have if you call, e-mail, or stop in my room.

AR READING-QUARTER 1 BOOK GOALS

Students need to try to meet either their point goal AND/OR their book goal for Quarter 1. They can earn up to 40 tickets for school store if they meet both goals. Also, students will be graded on their two highest AR tests for 1st Quarter, as well as a few other projects they are completing in class with their books. Please make sure they are reading each night. This will help them become better readers and students, achieve their goals, and complete their assignments!

NO SCHOOL October 16th & 17th

There will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday and Friday, October 16th & 17th due to Minnesota Educators Association Conference.

P.S. I Love You Homework

Please keep your eyes peeled for P.S. I Love You Homework. I have really good intentions in getting this homework home each Friday, but the last two times, the only times I have done it, it has been forgotten! I apologize for this and will try my hardest to get that home on time the rest of the year! I thought this would be a great way for you and your child to do some school bonding, as well as learn a few tips in how to help your child with his/her reading. I, along with your child, thank you for your support!

Trasportation News

From Mr. Koven and the bus garage: For the safety of all students, our bus drivers are not permitted to release any children from the buses once they have boarded the vehicles. If you have arrived at any of our schools after the children are already on-board, please go to the nearest school office. The office personnel will radio the bus driver to release the student.

Halloween Party

We will have a small halloween party on Friday, October 31st in our classroom. Students may bring their costumes to change into for the party. Please do not bring any inappropriate masks or props. A Halloween Committee will be formed to take plan and provide party snacks and games.
