Meet the Team

Mr. Johnson-
Hello! My name is Bjorn Johnson. This is my first year teaching at
Cannon Falls School and I have recently moved here. I am looking forward to
a fun and exciting school year. I am originally from Woodbury, MN. After
graduating from Woodbury High School, I attended Midland Lutheran College in
Fremont, NE. I was a member of MLC Varsity Football Team. I began my
teaching career at Pillager Public Schools. I taught there for 2 years
teaching 2nd and 3rd grades. I spent the last 3 years at Sleepy Eye Public
Schools teaching 1st and 3rd grades. I also did some coaching at both
schools in football, basketball, and softball.
When I'm not at school I can be found spending time with my family and
friends. I enjoy watching baseball games. Each summer my two brothers,
cousin, and myself travel to a new Major League Baseball Stadium to take in a
few games. I also enjoy spending a few days in the summer watching the
College World Series in Omaha, NE with friends. My favorite place to visit
is the North Shore. I try to make is up there at least once a year. When
I'm at home I can be found reading a Louis L'amour book, watching Seinfeld on
DVD, spending time with someone special, or working out. I'm looking forward
to a great school year at Cannon Falls!

Mrs. Winchell-
Greetings! My name is Jaime Winchell and I am a fourth year teacher
here at CFAES. In 2002 I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a BA
in K-8 Education and a minor in Coaching. On July 29th, I graduated from
Saint Mary's University with my Master's Degree in Education.
My husband, Aaron, and I live here in Cannon Falls with our three
children, Jaci (6), Jadan (4 1/2), and Karsyn (2). When I'm not in
school, I'm usually watching Disney movies, getting dirty with
the kids, playing at the park, going for bike rides and walks, cooking
dinner, or doing lots and lots of laundry. Some things I like to do when I'm
by myself is read, bike, workout, play on the computer, play volleyball and
basketball, watch American Idol, Brothers & Sisters, and Smarter than a 5th
Grader, spend time with family and friends, and of course...go shopping!
Something fun I did this summer was go to Wisconsin Dells and up North with
our families. The most challenging part of my summer was completing my
Master's Thesis, which was 45 pages long! Yikes!
I look forward to a fun-filled year of successful learning experiences
and community building with each child. Happy New School Year!

Mrs. Wolter-
I'm the familiar face in the 4th grade hallway. My name is Lynn
Wolter. I can't believe this is my 14th year teaching in Cannon Falls! I
taught 6th and 4th grade in Lakeville, MN for 7 years before coming here
where I was hired as a 6th grade teacher. I then moved to 4th grade because
I love this age so much! I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education
grades 1-6.
My husband, Mark, and I live out in the country near Lake Byllesby. We
collectively have 4 children. Their names are Brook and Molly Thomforde,
and Bailey and Samantha Wolter. As for pets, we have a black lab and a
golden retriever. My husband is a teacher also and is building his 7th house
with the students this school year. Most of my free time is spent driving my
children back and forth to practices since they are all in sports! Pretty
soon two more will be driving. I can't wait! And of course you'll find me
watching their games from the bleachers. When I'm not busy being a mom, I
actually like to roller blade, cross country ski, play tennis, read, garden,
play cards, go four-wheeling, deer hunt, camp, fish, golf, and collect
rocks...especially agates! I love to cook and try new recipes! My highlight
this summer was taking my first cruise to the Caribbean! Now I definitely
want to go on another ship again! I play softball with the firemen in the co-
ed softball league. I also play on the women's tennis and golf leagues.
Past students tell me I make learning fun! I like to include lots of
hands on learning in my classroom. This year we have all new carpet, paint,
and new ceilings! Each room has a Smartboard! Mine will be hooked up soon
and am looking forward to the challenge of something new to make learning
even more fun!

Miss Ransom-
Hello! This is my second year teaching at Cannon Falls. I'm very
excited to be a part of this district and I am looking forward to a memorable
school year full of fun and learning!
Here's a little bit of information about me: I grew up on a farm near
Lyle, MN, where my parents and brother still reside. I graduated from
Gustavus Adolphus College in 2003 and I recently obtained my Master's Degree
from Southwest State University. I currently live in Owatonna, MN where I
previously taught one year of fourth grade as well as three years of sixth
grade. I have two pets; a cat named Bosco and a rabbit named Freckles. And
yes, they get along very well! I enjoy being active so I stay busy playing
on my co-ed and women's volleyball teams, as well as getting together with
friends to play sports such as basketball and tennis. In addition to playing
sports, I also like watching them. I especially like hockey. I also enjoy
spending time with family and friends, reading, playing the piano, going to
concerts, and learning to do new things. This last year two of those new
things were pottery and wakeboarding! I am looking forward to a fun-filled
year full of lots of learning! Let's work together to make this a great
year!
