This Day in History: 2003 - California governor Gray Davis was recalled and
former bodybuilder and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected in his place.
MENU: Pizza or Ham Sandwich, Green Beans, Pineapple Tidbits, Lettuce Salad
and Milk. No Salad Bar.
CONGRATS: To this year's homecoming king Ben Jacobsen and homecoming queen
Nicole Zibolski! They were crowned last night in a very exciting ceremony.
Fantastic music, awesome singers, fun was had by all. Thanks to Deb Klegin
and Kirsten Hoffman, senior class advisors, who did a great job organizing
and planning for this!
PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Everyone participating in the parade needs to be here
on Friday at 5:00. We are lining up by the student parking lot!
ELEMENTARY PEP FEST PARTICIPANTS: Students/athletes that will be involved in
the elementary pepfest need to meet by the wrestling room at 12:50 on
Thursday for a quick meeting.
EVERYONE: Last night the junior high math team tied for first in their first
meet in Kenyon! Nice job! No practice after school today for junior high or
high school.
ALL STUDENTS: Check the signs around the building for information about your
homecoming activity that you signed up for. You will be meeting with your
homecoming advisor on Wednesday the beginning of 3rd hour. Any questions
stop in the office and talk to Alison or Mrs. Giese.
DRESS UP DAYS THIS WEEK: Tomorrow is 50's /Greaser Day, Thursday is Emmy
Day (wear your formal!) and Friday is Bomber Spirit Day!
FFA MEMBERS: We will begin working on the FFA homecoming float today from
4:30-7:00 p.m. (pizza and pop will be provided). Let Mr. Pliscott know if you
will be attending.
ALL JUNIORS: Please pick up a field trip permission slip from Mr. Langfeldt
for your homecoming activity on Friday. Slips need to be returned to the
office.
DANCE TEAM MEMBERS: Please pickup a calendar and registration information
from Mr. Gisvold's office. Return paperwork and fees ASAP!
LETTERMAN'S JACKETS: KB Kustom Kreations will be in the school taking orders
for letterman's jackets on Wednesday and Thursday during your lunch by the
cafeteria. They have jackets to try on and you can take an order form home
or bring $100.00 deposit and order your jacket.
JUNIORS: If you want to sign up to take the preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying test, you need to be signed up in the Guidance office
by this Thursday. The cost to take the test is $13.00.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Winona State University will have a rep. in our Guidance
office this Thursday at 1:30 p.m. If you would like to find out more about
this college, please stop ahead of time for a pass.
WALK TO SCHOOL: Wednesday Oct. 8 – all Middle School and High School students
and staff are invited to walk to school with the Elementary school kids on
Wednesday. Meet at the city parking lot and we start walking to the school
at 7:15 am. You could walk just part way if you meet us at Eastside Park
about 7:30!! The Elementary kids will be dressed for 50’s day too and they
would love to celebrate this part of homecoming with you. Plus, they’ll feed
you a snack and give you a water bottle if you walk with them!!
