Partner Reading, Number Sense, Valentine's Day, Post Office, 100th Day of School, Keeping Healthy, & Presidents
We have been very busy in kindergarten! The kids have been working hard in Reading Workshop. While reading, ask your child to find a word they know, tell you about their favorite page, or tell what the book is mostly about.
In Math, we continue to learn about numbers and how we use them in our world. We are learning more about shapes and 3-D shapes. Keep practicing counting at home--count by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. We have learned how to form the numbers 1-10. Ask your child to write them for you!
We are continuing with our writing unit. The kinderkids are writing about "small moments" from their lives. They are learning to take one moment, stretch it out, and describe that moment in detail.
We are learning about writing letters and our playhouse area is now a post office. Write your child a letter and mail it to:

I love spending my days with the kindergarteners. I also enjoy seeing them in their activities outside of school. Please let me know of hockey games, gymnastics, dance, etc. I would love to try to attend!
Kindergarten is a very busy place!!!
