Reading, Writing, Numbers, Scarecrows, Families

We have finished adding all of our names to our word wall.  We are now adding words we will read in books and use in our writing.  We learned about trees and their parts, the Maplewood Fire Department taught us about fire safety, and we visited Star Lab.  We continue to practice writing our names, letters of the alphabet, and forming numbers 0-9.

We opened a costume shop in our classroom and had fun in dramatic play.  We changed our looks and voices while pretending to be a different person.  We had a costume celebration and all came to school dressed
as someone new!

We are reading "just right" books every day.  The children will bring home their reading folders with a story to share, and read you a bedtime story!  We are beginning a new writing unit.  We will become story tellers and tell stories from our lives.  We will bring an object from home that will help us to tell and write a story!

I love spending my days with the kindergarteners.  I also enjoy seeing them in their activities outside of school.  Please let me know of hockey games, gymnastics, dance, etc.  I would love to try to attend!
