Classroom Update
A big thank you to Mrs. Imsland for leading our Art Adventures. The
students had a fabulous time and created some wonderful pieces of artwork.
Don’t forget the short week next week. I have included the calendar for both
weeks as I will not be sending home a Hendrickson Happenings next week. We
had a slight mix up in the Friday folders and the Physical Fitness test
results were not placed in the correct folders. Many students have already
returned the misfiled papers but I am still missing a few. Please take a
moment to look through last week’s paperwork and see if you may still have
another student’s paper. Thanks! Sorry about the mix up and I will send home
the correct papers next week. Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Turkey Day!
Communications
The Planets in our Solar System is our main selection for this week
and next. We are learning about main idea and details and using context
clues. Due to the shortened week next week, we will not be having a spelling
test.
Math
We have started multiplication! We will be going through each set of facts
and then we will begin memorizing our facts. Most students have mastered
their addition facts for our timed test. Please continue to practice
subtraction facts as this will be the next timed test we will be taking.
Science
We conducted an experiment to determine what stems of plants are used for
with celery and food coloring. We are also learning about classifying
animals.
Social Studies
Communities in the past and present is our focus for the next few weeks.
We will be reading Little House in the Big Woods and comparing Laura’s life
with ours. It is a great story and the student’s are really enjoying it. ial
