The Physical Education program in the Centennial School District is a
cooperative venture between the physical education specialist, the classroom
teacher, and the students. Your child will be involved in thirty minutes of
structured physical activity at least two times a week with his/her physical
education teacher. Kindergarten students meet with their specialist once a
week. Your child's classroom teacher will attempt to provide structured
physical activity on the days your son/daughter does not have class with
Mrs.
Nickleby or Mrs. Jenneke.
The goals that we have for our students in our physical education classes
are:
*To emphasize fun while increasing students' level of physical fitness.
*To teach knowledge of rules and strategies when teaching a game.
*To emphasize the self-satisfaction of giving ones best effort, rather than
stressing competition and winning.
*To help all students become aware of their capabilities while participating
in various activities.
In order for all students to have a safe and positive experience in physical
education, the following expectations will need to be followed:
1. All students will listen to and follow the instructor's directions.
2. All students will try their best in all of the activities.
3. All students will cooperate with their classmates and instructor.
4. All students will participate in the activities scheduled unless a
written excuse is given. If an illness or injury persists, please have
a doctor write a note explaining the restrictions your child may have.
5. All students have been reminded to wear TENNIS SHOES AND SOCKS during
physical education class for his/her safety. NO HIGH HEEL TENNIS SHOES
please!!
