I have been teaching for about 14 years. I love teaching 1st grade! I
absolutely love the cute things that 1st graders say and do, and I LOVE to
see the growth in them from the beginning of the year to the end. You might
think that after so much time teaching first grade that I might be sick of
it, but no way! Each year I learn more about children, and I am constantly
changing what I do based on what I am learning.
I live in Blaine with my two daughters and my husband. I have one daughter
entering high school and one entering 5th grade here at Centennial.. I love
our district so much that I open enroll them here! I love to do anything creative. I love to
stamp cards, knit, make beaded jewelry, and create fun activities for the
smartboard and on the computer for school. I also LOVE to read, attend and
volunteer at church,, exercise, play volleyball with my family, go camping,
and play games and cards with my friends and family.
Also, I have developed a passion for missionary work. I had the privilege of
going on my 3rd mission trip this summer. My mission work began in Nicaragua during the
summer of 2010, and this summer I went on my 2nd trip to Haiti in July, along with a small group
of others from my church. There, we delivered water to people living in Cite Soleil, as well
as served at a few orphanages, served the "orphaned" elderly there, and at a home for sick and
dying children. I can't wait to go back!
Now, I get to spend an amazing year with a great group of kids at school!
How lucky am I? I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
