Dear Parents,

“Hurry, hurry, hurry, get em while their hot!”  On Friday, October 30th we will be having a “Hot dog” party in honor of the study of culture.

An official definition of culture is…the totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought.

It is very important that students understand the definition of culture before we intensify our ancient studies. To do this, we will be watching the Hot Dog Program which shows the different ways people prepare and eat hot dogs across the United States…it is amazing! We will compare the “Hot dog culture” around the United States as an example to refer to as we travel through ancient times.

We would be very grateful for a donation toward our party.  We are in need of any kind of hot dogs, buns, and condiments.  Students may get condiment ideas from the video…a few examples are ketchup, mustard, cheese, chili, onions, relish, sauerkraut, etc.

If your child has volunteered to bring something, please see the back of this sheet. Please do not feel obligated to give, but students should bring a drink for themselves.

Students may bring their donations immediately.

THANK YOU so much!
