My name is Laura Thomson and I am currently the 6th grade Language Arts
teacher on Team 601. I have been teaching Language Arts at CMS for the past
5 years in both sixth and eighth grade. This is my fourth year with Team 601.
A little about me... I am originally from Red Wing, Minnesota and still
visit there frequently. I went to college at the University of Wisconsin and
I am currently in graduate school at Concordia University - Saint Paul to
obtain my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as my K-12
Reading License. I graduate in December! I am a huge sports fan: the Twins,
Vikings, Minnesota Wild and I especially enjoy anything Badgers related!
My goal is to create lifelong readers, as well as writers who know how to
write with a purpose and clarity of expression. I also hope that my students
will be able to verbally communicate their ideas in a clear and concise
manner, as well as to learn how to build their listening skills for continual
understanding throughout their lives. I look forward to doing this in a fun
and nurturing environment!
