Greetings and welcome to Visitation!
My name is Ann Marie O’Brien, first grade teacher. I have just finished my
first year teaching at Visitation and had an amazing year and look forward to
beginning my second year at Visitation. I graduated in 1990 from St, Mary’s
University, completed my Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota in
Elementary Education in 1992, and recently finished my Reading Specialist
licensure in 2005 from St. Mary’s University. Currently, I also am an adjunct
instructor for the Masters of Arts and Instruction for St. Mary’s University.
I am beginning my 20th year of teaching with most of my experience in grades
Kindergarten and first grade.
Teaching young minds is my passion, and every day I embrace and feel very
blessed to have the opportunity to be with my first graders.
During my free time, I LOVE to read, do creative crafts, spending time with
my family,camp,love to play tennis, and enjoy running 5k races (my goal is to
move up to a 10k race this Fall, 2009. I have a deep passion for animals, and
have a spoiled Brittany Spaniel, named Barney, who keeps us busy, with walks,
runs, and throwing tennis balls!
First grade at Visitation is a special place,

Games to play and songs to sing,
We learn Spanish, French, Chinese and everything.
Pencils, papers, books to read,
We have everything we need.
So much to learn, so much to do,
All of our knowledge might surprise you.
Our class is a friendly busy bunch,
Look- it’s almost time for lunch!
We know all the ABC’s,
Right down to the XYZ’s.
Reading, writing, spelling too,
We even learn twenty two plus two.
We learn together about kindness and peace all year,
We also carry Jesus in our heart, right here!
There’s time for work, time for play,
Learning new things every day.
First grade is a special place,
