College Level Courses
(CIS, AP, PAA) Student Feedback
This information is based on an informal survey of all students currently
taking a college level course.
Number of college level
classes recommended:
1 course: The majority of students who have 1 course
said they could definitely have taken more. They spend
about an hour on their college course daily.
2 courses: Most students with 2 courses recommend
this level for students who are in athletics or have a job after school.
Most are spending 2-3 hours at least daily on homework.
3 courses: Most are spending 2 ½ - 4 hours daily on
homework. Stress level was higher for some trying to
balance after school activities, jobs, etc. Some felt
they could handle it with good time management skills and by not
procrastinating.
4 courses: Many students with this level recommend
not taking 4 college level courses in the same trimester. Some
had to drop one class or quit a job. Many mentioned being
constantly stressed and overloaded, always behind, never caught up or ahead.

Tests are harder than other classes and require more preparation.
