Academics

School Counselors help students with all aspects of planning their academic courses, and succeeding in school. Contact your school counselor anytime for questions regarding classes or your child's schedule. If desired, ask your child's counselor to meet individually with your child to discuss current or future classes and academic progress.

Online Grades

Check your grades online anytime. Remember, they only are required to be updated every two weeks, so the information is not always immediately current! Students and parents may check in the Counseling Office for their login and password, or if they are having trouble accessing online grades.

Tutoring

For students who may be struggling with schoolwork, the best resource for getting help is the teacher. Contact your child's teacher to discuss current concerns and to get extra help. In addition to this, NPHS offers student tutors. The STARS (Students Teaching & Reaching Students) tutoring program offers an individual tutor to an individual student. Parent permission forms are available in the Counseling Office, and you may talk to any school counselor to make arrangements for your child.

Study Skills, Test Anxiety, Time Management

We offer many free helpful booklets on these topics. Have your child stop in to pick one up! Or, contact your school counselor to request that he or she meet with your child individually to discuss specific study skills. The counselor can help your child identify problematic areas and make an action plan for how to make improvements.
