12 Humanities

12th Grade Humanities provides an overview of the American literary tradition from colonial to modern times; it also provides intensive preparation for the AP Literature exam, for which students sit in May.   As an AP class and as the final English course students take at Nova, this class assumes students are ready for college-level work.  They will be given opportunities to illustrate that readiness during this course.

Now that we are in the 2nd Semester, with the AP Lit exam fast approaching, we will be practicing open-response writing.  Please see the tab on the bottom left--AP Lit Prompts.  I will upload anonymous student responses to past AP prompts.  This will give all students the opportunity to review texts read in previous years and to see how peers use these titles to develop a response to given prompts.  Both the writing and the reading will strengthen students' position in anticipation of May's exam.
