Where do we register new students?

New students are registered in the district office.

What do I need to bring to register a new student?

We need the official birth certificate and current immunizations 
in hand before a student may begin classes.

When are school board meetings held?

The school board meets twice a month--the first Thursday and the third Monday at 
7:00. Most meetings are held in the high school choir room.

When is the district office open?

Our office hours are from 7:00-3:30 during the school year.  In 
the summer we're open 7:00-4:30 Monday-Thursday and 7:00-11:00 on
Fridays.

Where is Pine Island?

Pine Island is located 14 miles north of Rochester, Minnesota, on 
Highway 52 and 75 miles south of the Twin Cities. Many of Pine
Island's residents work in Rochester with the majority working at
one of the medicalfacilities or at IBM. Families move to Pine
Island because of a quality and safe school system.

How large is the Pine Island School?

Pine Island Public Schools has an enrollment of approximately 
1250 students(K-12). K-12 is housed in one building with each
elementary grade being four or five sections. We have
specialists in the areas of music, physical education, computer,
and art. We offer elementary choir, orchestra, band, gifted and
talented and extra curricular activities for high achieving
students. We also offer services to the 0-3 age child and family.

Does Pine Island have a childcare program?

Panther Pals is a school-age childcare program run through our 
Community Education. Community Education also runs an Early
Childhood Program. Call 507-356-8876 for more information.
