Fifth Grade Orchestra meets on Day B from 11:10-11:45 AM. Students are also scheduled to have a 20-minute group lesson each week. The 5th grade lesson schedule can be found on the Orchestra Downloads page.

All orchestra students are expected to practice out side of lessons and orchestra rehearsals. Students who have the most success find some time to play their instrument every day for at least 15-30 minutes. Students are encouraged to record their practice time on the PIE (Play Instrument Everyday) Chart. These are available at school as well as on the Orchestra Downloads page.

Our first concert has been scheduled for Thursday, October 25th. The concert begins at 7:30 PM and should take about a half hour. It will be held in old high school gymnasium and there is no admission charge. While the concert begins at 7:30 PM your child should be at school by 7:15 PM so that we have time to tune prior to the concert.

We will have one more evening performance this year: Thursday, April 25th at 7:30 PM. I would encourage you to put this date on your family’s calendar.

Attendance at these events is mandatory for your child. If for some reason your child cannot attend please inform me as soon as possible. Finally, a word about attire. Please have your child “dress-up” for the concert. If possible, they should not wear jeans or athletic shoes.
