News from Mrs. Mortland's room...
...Hopefully everyone had a great THANKSGIVING. I know I ate lots of turkey
and had a wonderful visit with family members. We traveled to Shakopee and
had a fantastic supper with my brother and his family. His son had a new
baby girl so we had a delightful baptism to attend.
... Back to work in our room...
Math: We are working on graphs and charts in our math chapter. It can be
very confusing for the students. We keep reviewing and each day more are
understanding how to make the graphs.
READING: What are compound words? That is the question we are working with
and finding compound words in sentences.
We are also working on the "or" sound in words. That includes
many "or" words in our spelling test.
It is amazing that we can be playing outside with light coats on, when the
calendar says it is the last of November. We are enjoying the nice weather.
Pretty soon we will be spending the time in our room.
We are taking the unit SOCIAL STUDIES test. We have studied laws and why we
have rules and laws to obey in school and at home.
