Announcements

Dec. 7, 2009

Welcome to the cold temperatures of winter. Now that it is really
getting cold and the promise of snow is in the forecast, please discuss
proper winter clothing for recess. Fifth graders are responsible enough to
wear hats, gloves, boots, and snow pants if they are playing in the snow. No
one will be sent home if they get wet pants. The playgrounds don't get much
shelter from the wind, so having warm clothing is important.
Our Stepping Stone Theater field trip is on Wednesday. Please read the
1/2 sheet reminder about the lunch/snack procedure and timing for that day.
Chinese classes are being offered at Rice Lake. Please read the letter
that was sent home today for more information.

     Sincerely,

     Mrs. Mary Schleicher

Today students will be bringing home another field trip form for the
Orchestra Hall field trip that is set up by our music teacher, Mrs. Berg.
Please read it, fill out the appropriate parts, and send in the money for
this field trip by Dec. 14th. As always, if you need a scholarship, send the
form in right away with a note about a scholarship.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Mary Schleicher

Nov. 19, 2009

Today students will be bringing home a permission slip for the movie,
National Treasure. This movie will be shown to the 5th graders on Wed, Nov.
25th to emphasize the social studies they have been learning. The movie is
rated PG, so parent permission is necessary. Please read the letter and
return it with your preference.
If some of you are traveling next week to visit family or friends, have
a safe trip. Enjoy the time with your loved ones. I know that I am
anticipating my Thanksgiving dinner this year.

     Sincerely,

     Mrs. Mary Schleicher
