Meet the Coaches

Brian Bailey - Head Coach - Distance

Brian Bailey joins the staff as a first year track and field head coach in 2011. Bailey, who has led the Roseville boys Cross Country team to great success, will coach the distance runners. He brings a passion for running and knowledge of mechanics and training that will no doubt provide great gains for the boys program. WELCOME COACH BAILEY!

Mike Grant , Sprints

Coach Grant has the 2nd longest tenure on the Raider Track and
Field Staff. Grant trains the sprinters and coaches the 4X100 and 4X200 Meter relay teams. He's had numerous athletes compete in the MSHSL meet, and was a part of the State winning staff in 2005. Grant teaches physical education and coaches football at RAHS.

Rob Reetz 300IH/400 M

Coach Reetz is in his 8th year with
the program and also contributed to the 2005 state championship. Reetz will work the 300 IM Hurdlers and 400 meter runners in 2011. Coach Reetz is in his fourth year teaching English at Irondale High School where he also coaches football.

Bill Pratt - Throws

Coach Pratt brings great experience, knowledge and history to our program. This one-time great middle distance runner now trains our crew of throwers. Coach Pratt began coaching track at Roseville in 1993. The coaches award given at the end of each track season to the athlete who most represents hard work and determination is now named after him. Coach Pratt is a retired pastor, and now teaches at North Central University in Minneapolis.

Jeff Hertel - Jumps/Hurdles

Coach Hertel will again coach the horizontal jumpers and hurdlers in 2011. In his short tenure at Roseville, Hertel has coached two athletes to the state meet in the 110 meter high hurdles and has also had multiple jumpers finish at Hamline in June! Hertel is a former college football and track athlete. He teaches physical education at RAMS and also coaches Football at RAHS.

Jay Quick - HJ/PV

Jay Quick joins the Raider staff as a first year coach in 2011! Quick is an elite All-American high jumper at Bethel University and is currently in his senior season. Quick has won multiple MIAC Conference championships and has a personal record high jump of 6-10.
