      This newsletter will be for the next 2 weeks since we are going to have short ones.

      You can be very proud of your third or fourth grade student for their behavior and performance at last week's Veteran's Day program.  Many people complimented us on our students.

      I am looking forward to the chance to meet with you for conferences this week.  If you are not able to make it at your time, please let us know so we can reschedule. It is so important for your child to know that communication is open between us and that they are included so we can work together to help them be the best student possible. Please take home your child's "Fall Collection" projects when you come for your conference.

     We will be doing a spelling unit - number 9 - and a reading story this week.  Since there is no school on Friday, the spelling unit pages will be due on Thursday this week, and spelling and selection tests will also be on Thursday.  Next week (Nov. 23-25) there will be no regular spelling or reading classes.

     With Thanksgiving coming soon we will be spending some time learning about the story of the Pilgrims and their adventure to the New World.  We will also be thinking about the many things we have to be thankful for in our lives and how we can share with others who are not so lucky. Donations for the local food shelves can be brought in any time this week and next. On Wednesday of NEXT week ( Nov. 25) there will be a special Thanksgiving mass for K-6. Our class will be doing the readings, etc for that mass. 

     November and July birthdays will have their special birthday dinner on Wed, Nov. 25.

      Book orders are due - either on line or to me- by Nov. 19.

     Finally, have a great Thanksgiving !  I will be heading to my sister's house in Annandale to celebrate. One of the things I am most thankful for is having the privilege of being a teacher at Sacred Heart School. It is a great school to be part of because of all of your support and understanding.  I sincerely do thank you for all you do for our school.
