How can I volunteer in the library?
There are two excellent ways to volunteer in the library, both require that volunteers complete VIRTUS training, complete the background check paperwork, and sign the code of ethics statement. Individuals interested in volunteering in the library can talk to their child's teacher and possibly become that class's weekly library parent. The duties for that person generally include performing student check outs, shelving returned items, and reading aloud to students. These volunteers are very important to smooth operation of the library. Other individuals who wish to volunteer might call Mr. Demco directly and volunteer to work in the library without attachment to a specific class. Duties for these individuals could include performing student check outs, shelving returned items, reading aloud to students, cleaning/dusting the library, performing collection maintenance, sorting and delivering overdue notices, and other odd jobs that arise. These volunteers are also very important to smooth operation of the library.Back to Top
