About The Teacher
Welcome to Mrs. Gallagher's 4th grade class! I have taught at Saint Ambrose since it opened in the fall of 2000 and am happy to be returning again this year! I have been teaching since 1992, when I started teaching 4th grade at St. Jude of the Lake in Mahtomedi, MN. I taught there for 9 years, after which I started here at Saint Ambrose. I earned my bachelor's degrees at the University of St. Thomas, where I majored in Communications, and then at the University of Minnesota, where I completed my teaching certification. In 2006, I earned a Master of Education -Catholic School Leadership degree at the University of Saint Mary's. I have been married to my husband Mike since 1992, and we are blessed with two wonderful boys, Ryan (14) and Liam (10). We live in Shoreview, MN. I myself come from a large family of 10 kids, growing up in Dellwood, MN, so I have lived and worked in this area all my life. My interests include reading, playing the piano, art, gardening, boating, word and number puzzles, watching hockey, and physical activities such as rollerblading, golf, running, kickboxing and waterskiing. FAVORITES: Color: RED Sport: HOCKEY Drink: COFFEE - w/ 1/2 shot of sugar-free vanilla and cream Food: TACOS, RASPBERRIES Dessert: ICE CREAM and HOMEMADE RICE KRISPIE BARS Movie: THE ENGLISH PATIENT Book: I have read WAY too many to have a favorite! Mission Label:
Mission
I believe that education should be accessible to all. I hope to provide the tools that each learner needs in order to fulfill their potential. I will try to gain an awareness of each child's experiences, attitudes, perceptions, intelligences, learning styles, and needs so that I can have a greater impact on their educational experience. It is important to provide a wide variety of learning experiences and activities that will address the varying needs of the students. The growth of a student cannot be measured strictly in terms of their acquisition of knowledge and academic performance. The goal is for each child to grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Only then do we have an individual who is equipped for LIFE.
