We began Chapter 5, the Kingdom of God; discussed heaven
and hell and purgatory.
Wed. 12/9 Fr. Tom gave a talk on his process of writing and presenting
a homily as preparation for the homily project that students
are to work on. Students are to do this as homework. We will
not be using class time to write these.
Thurs.12/10 Continue chapter 5 and take notes on what a parable is.

of students each day this week, students will work independent-
ly on a reflection paper of their experience; they will read
articles and complete worksheets on hunger; students will do a
collage or write a poem on hunger based on what they learned.

and dangers and how to avoid the dangers.
In small groups, students will make a poster to alert
others to what they can do to be safe online.

Thurs.11/19 Out of Harm's Way: we discussed scenarios called "Protect
or Tell"
Fri. 11/20 Out of Harm's Way: we went through questions on boundary
building, tricks that predators use, and when to say "no."

Mon. 11/16 Began the personal safety curriculum today--discussed personal
rights and personal power.
Tues. 11/17 Out of Harm's Way: discussed how people can lie online and
trick us into believing them. Students took a blog safety
quiz and then we discussed the results of that.
Wed. 11/18 Out of Harm's Way: discussed trusted adults in their lives;
also discussed assertive vs. aggressive behavior.
Thurs.11/19 Out of Harm's Way: we discussed scenarios of role power and
and how to deal with it using personal power.
Fri. 11/20 Students took a quiz on groomers and what their purpose was
in various situations; then we corrected and talked about
those. This is the final day for the personal safety curri-
culum. Handed back grades for Unit I projects.

Mon. 11/16 Began "A Christmas Carol"; student worksheet on Christmas
literature or stories; worksheet also includes a webquest
on Charles Dickens. Due at the end of class tomorrow.

jigsaw project. Each group is assigned a chapter to teach the
class using a power point presentation. The presentations
will take place next week Tuesday through Friday.
