Homework

A good homework goal is for first graders to be spending 20 minutes total a night on their work.

Reading: Each month starting with October students are asked to report on four books they have read.  Take a look at "Book Reports" to see each month's report.
 
Math: Math facts from 0-9 is our goal for the year.  Any flashcard practice at home will help your child to master them in the class!
 
Spelling:  Each week we will have a set list of words to master in one week's time.  You can start now by looking at "Spelling List" to see the words for our year.  If your child can already spell the words, see if they can change the vowels to make a new word (bat to bit).  See if your child can build on to the word (cat to catagory).
