Overview and Philosophy

Understand and apply media, techniques and processes
Understand the visual arts in relation to history and cultures
Reflect upon and assess the characteristics and merits of their own work and 
the work of others
Make connections between visual arts and other subject areas
The art curriculum teaches students how to enhance their lives by making art 
an important part of their lives.
Through art, students are exposed to various cultures, artist and creative 
processes that can help them to make important connections in life.  It 
provides the framework and experiences to help students recognize who they 
are and how they fit into the world.
Students can use the knowledge and expressiveness resulting from art 
education experiences in all areas of their lives.
